Im Kontext der Annexion der Krim und nun des Angriffskrieges gegen die Ukraine hat das Putin-Regime schon vor Jahren begonnen, den Westen als ein politisches, ideologisches und sogar moralisches Feindbild für die russische Gesellschaft zu etablieren.
SPIEGEL: Gelingt ihm das?
Bönker: Eine deutliche Mehrheit der russischen Bevölkerung ist empfänglich für die antiwestliche Propaganda zur angeblichen Dekadenz des Westens und für das Narrativ der Bedrohung durch die Nato. Es entspricht einer Wagenburg-Mentalität, die Russland einen besonderen Platz in der Welt zuweist.
Ich wünsche mir, dass alle menschlichen Gesellschaften und Bevölkerungen in einem tiefen Bewusstsein mir der uns alle verbindenen Menschlichkeit verbunden bleiben.

In the context of the annexation of Crimea and the current war of aggression against Ukraine, the Putin regime began to establish the West years ago as a political, ideological and even moral enemy of Russian society.
SPIEGEL: Does he succeed in that?
Bönker: A clear majority of the Russian population is receptive to anti-Western propaganda about the alleged decadence of the West and to the narrative of the NATO threat. It corresponds to a wagon camp mentality that gives Russia a special place in the world.
I wish that all human societies and populations remain connected in a deep consciousness to the humanity that connects us all.
