Meditation – Connecting with Innocence

Meditation - Connecting with Innocence
And so I just wanted to introduce this quality
and as a way of perhaps supporting a connection at the very beginning here in introducing this
I'd like to ask you all to do just a short exercise right now

So it would help to close your eyes
I'm going to ask you all to close your eyes
and whatever spontaneously comes in this imagination,
to remember yourself as a child
whatever age comes to you
and even vividly imagine seeing pictures of yourself
wherever in your life, in the environment that you grew up in
maybe at play, maybe discovering life,
perhaps with a friend or friends, or animals
and see and let yourself feel this you, this innocent you
the child who doesn't know about life, but is discovering life

Let yourself feel the energies, the innocence.

And also notice if something else arises
some difficult or painful experience arises
or if sadness rises
just observe that and notice it
and just be with it

Notice if there's a block or resistance to feeling, to see your innocence
whether you're conscious of it or not,
just something in you that's preventing you from letting go, surrendering to your childlike innocence

Notice if your body is tight or holding
or if you're breathing in a shallow manner,
and take a deeper breath
continuing to vividly imagine yourself as a child

The pictures, the images might change,
different ages might occur to you ...
and let yourself enjoy the feeling of you
as you were young
as you were a child

If sadness or pain arises you allow that.
If the pain you experience as a child comes,
let yourself be compassionate to that child
who was hurt or in pain.

And letting yourself be in touch with your child

If that's difficult to connect with your innocence or even if it isn't,
imagine ta child right now in your life that you know
perhaps a son or daughter, a grandson or a granddaughter
someone that you know as a child and bring them into your heart
into your mind and see them in their innocence.
Allow your heart to open to this innocent being, who is yet to discover life.

Let your tender heart be moved by the senses.

And so just a short journey into this part of your being.

I know that if I can remember something that's innocent in another,
in myself as a child, that feeling is in me right now.
It awakens the quality that is already in my heart.

And so you can take a couple of deeper breaths
and open your eyes when you're ready.
