On Februrary 28, 2025 a heated exchanged took place between Zelenskyy, Trump and Vance in the oval office. It is a historic moment, it seems. The political leaders of the USA openly side with a terrorist mafia state, setting themselves up as their allies – against Europe and the free world.

There was no compassionate understanding for either of the sides, it was just
I saw a rapid fire of reactivity and there could have been a dialogue with more compassion and understanding.
From my point of view Zelenskyy stayed calm enough and his interventions were necessary to bring the voice of Ukraine (and the free world) to the table. He was not heard by Trump or Vance, who did not show signs of respect or basic hospitality to Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people before the meeting and this did not change during the meeting. They appeared to only be interested to see the guest fulfill their request and they did not make room for understanding of a different position to their own.
Zelenskyy would not have it.
The position of Trump seems to be mainly one of revenge. As he sees it Biden harmed the USA by giving billions to Ukraine and he also used his power in the presidency to attack Trump, using a false narrative that Putin influended elections. So now he wants billions back through a minerals deal, in order to create more justice.
This is a very tough one to give empathy too. I have inner disgust trying to go there. For many reasons. Understandable that Zelenskyy, as leader of his country in times of war, would find it impossible to give understanding to Trump on this matter.
(So do you feel sad about what you saw as a big hoax and would you like the truth to be seen? – This would be just one way to try and engage in more understanding dialogue. And it would need to go a couple of steps further, for Trump to feel heard in any way.)
Trump did not get understanding for his suffering. In his world he tries to recreate justice, for himself and for the USA, by the incredible harm that has been done by Biden and the hated democrats. And Ukraine is one of the ways that Biden used to harm Trump and the USA. So when Trump still advocated to help Ukraine – under these meanings that he holds – he may feel insulted and hurt, when Zelenskyy does not act with huge gratitude for such a big hearted position of support – despite of all the injustice that has been done to Trump and the USA. He cannot understand why Zelenskyy does not happily move to give him billions of minerals to make up for the injustice. Because in his world, Trump could just erase Ukraine and he is all powerful to do whatever he wants, to get his revenge.
So the meeting ended without agreement or understanding.
