Giraffe Ears (and Jackal Ears)

Marshall shows how to use giraffe ears – one of the most marvelous technological devices that’s ever been invented.

He also reminds us of our well practiced, habitual jackal ears – a technological device, that leads to a lot of suffering for us and others.

Notes

All judments are tragic expression of unfulfilled needs. With giraffe awareness we experience Jackals as an unskillful way of people to make there requests to others. This is doubly beneficial. We are free from suffering of taking messages personally, that in fact are not meant in that way. And we can enjoy people offering us gifts, giving us pointers how we might contribute to their lives – fulfilling our need for making live more wonderful.

Noticing the secondary feelings – anger, guilt, shame and depression – as instruments that help us to understand the presence of jackal thinking in us, we support our inner learning and growth – and we increase our inner freedom and empowerment.

The option – of course – is to be subject to the thoughts that create those feelings and to believe in those thoughts. We can do this for a long time and not wake up to the fact of our enslavement – ever.

When we believe in our anger, we are giving our power away.
When we believe in our guilt or shame, we are giving our power away.
When we believe in our depression, we are giving our power away.

Each jackal offers a doorway to compassion, to a wonderful feeling and need.
